Enjoy a unique and memorable holiday experience in our wonderful Train Carriage Units.
The "Red Rattler" as it was affectionately known in it's days of travelling on the Geelong to Melbourne rail line is a 1910 75 foot First Class Passenger Train.
We have restored her to the days of glory and now offer guests the opportunity to have a different accommodation experience in 4 star comfort.
The carriage has been converted into 2 very comfortable units with one queen bedroom, en-suite, a living area with fold-down double bed and reverse cycle air conditioning. All the comforts afforded in 4 star accommodation but in a unique setting.
Or for that romantic getaway guests can stay in our Luxury Settlers cottage (ideal for 2 guests). This was the original home on the property (circa 1920) which has been fully renovated to 4 star level.
The cottage has one queen bedroom, ensuite, kitchenette and dining area and a large lounge room with library, tv, dvd, phonograph player with records, and games table for those quiet evenings. Furnished with antiques it is a decadent way to spend a weekend or extended holiday.
Consider that our guests voted us one of the best places to stay in Victoria (2007) and we were finalists for the 2008 award (final 20 out of 1400) - we are very proud of this achievement.
Whether you are looking for a short stay or an extended holiday you will be looked after like kings and queens.
Guests can enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast in the private restaurant after a relaxing nights rest. (Continental from $6 - Full hot breakfast with the works $15) and Geoff is happy to cook evening meals for our B&B guests. It's like having your own chef for a day. (Evening meals from $20 and a copy of our menu items is on our web page).
We are very dog friendly - Dogs are Gods here - and guests can have their dogs stay with them in the units (must be very well behaved and keep off the furniture). We also have an outside kennel and run in case guests would like to visit the nearby national parks.
THE GARDENS: Our 6 acre property is surrounded by beautiful tranquil farmlands only 2 klms from the Great Southern Ocean. Blooms abound all year long and with over 3 acres of different flowering plants and an amazing number & variety of wild birds, there is always something to see on your walk around the property.
